he Monroe County League has released their 2018 All League awards.  In total there were 53 1st Team picks and 51 2nd Team picks.  In addition, each of the three divisions had a Player of the Year and Coach of the Year awards.

he Rochester Chapter of US Lacrosse has announced the 2018 Herb Fitch Lacrosse All Star Game player selections. This year`s contest, featuring some of the best of the graduating seniors will be held on Thursday, June 14th at Victor High School. The boys`game will start at 8:00 PM after the girls` play at 6:00 PM and the youth clinic which starts at 4:30.

here were 11 games played tonight.  The low-scoring Geneva over Midlakes-Newark 4-3 was the closest game of the night.  Other scores included: Marcus Whitman over Gananda 15-3, RH over Spencerport 18-9, Waterloo over Penn Yan 10-4, Greece Storm over CC 12-8, Victor over Gates Chili 17-2, Penfield over Thomas 14-5, Pittsford over Fairport 10-7, Canandaigua over Pal-Mac 16-6, Schroeder over Hilton 15-10 and Brighton over Irondequoit 15-2.

# 348  Another Big Night for the Middle of the Week
here were 11 games played tonight in Section Five.  Spencerport fell to Victor 12-8 which leaves only Pittsford as being undefeated on the season.  The closest game of the night was Gananda over Geneva 11-10.  Additional scores included, Pittsford over C-C 17-0, Canandaigua over Brockport 16-2, Brighton over Eastridge 18-1, Penfield over Gates Chili 19-1, Mercy over Aquinas 11-6, Penn Yan over Wayne 15-3, RH over Greece Storm 15-9, HFL over Irondequoit 11-7 and Fairport over Hilton 17-7.

onore Couny end of season awards come in with 50 First and 48 Second Team All County Players.  In addition, there were 4 All Americans and 4 Academic All Americans.  As well as three divisional Players of the Year.

# 306  All Greater Rochester 2017
he Rochester Democrat and Chronicle announced their 2017 All-Greater Rochester Lacrosse team on Friday. The list features the top sixteen players and a number of honorable mentions were led by HFL senior Caitlin Muir who was named Player of the Year. She finished the season with 64g-30a.  She will continue to play next season at Michigan.

# 288  Brighton Pulls Away in Second Half
op seeded Brighton scored a four goal stretch to end the first half and begin the second half to defeat #8 seeded Irondequoit 9-6.  Irondequoit led for a large portion of the first half, and remained competitive before Brighton began to pull away in the early second half.

# 239  Brighton Remains Undefeated
Brighton remained one of only two undefeated teams in Section Five with their 8-6 win over Pittsford.  The Panthers drop to 7-1 on the season.  In general, the contest was a great example of lacrosse in Section Five.  There was only one time during the game where the score was more than 2 goals apart.  Katie Lederman stood out for the Barons and scored the final three goals to secure the win late in the second half.

# 233  Brighton Wins Sixth Straight
righton scored nine of the first ten goals in their 13-5 win over HFL.  Brighton scored the opening goal, and although the Cougars tied at 1-1, the Barons never trailed.  The first three goals were all scored off the 8m line.  For Brighton, Kathryn Smolensky and Eleanor Burns scored.  Brittany Chamberlain scored the first goal for HFL.
